Solution
QuietKat consulted their sheet metal enclosure manufacturer for all possible locking solutions available on the market. The enclosure manufacturer recommended DIRAK’s 1-501 keyed zinc-die Snap-lock which is both a strong and lightweight solution featuring a spring-loaded cam which operates by a lockable push button.
The enclosure manufacturer has a long standing relationship with DIRAK and has used this same snap-lock solution for other applications with successful results. It’s easy to install, utilizing a standard mounting size which requires no customization and has a slam lock feature eliminating the need for a key to lock it after closing. The rugged, low-profile snap-lock is easy to operate with gloved hands, which are necessary for QuietKat users while driving their vehicles in the field. DIRAK’s slam lock guarantees secured locking and was a perfect solution for safeguarding the battery inside the housing enclosure.
